Repairs and reconstruction of railway freight wagons
The company KOS carries out overhauls and revisions of railway freight wagons. The company is certified in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 2019/779 as an Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM), part Performing Maintenance. We repair freight wagons of all types according to these certified repair regulations:
- KVs5-B-2010 (ČD Cargo) – repairs in the REV, NB, NBt range
- VPI – repairs of the range G 4.0, G 4.2, G 4.8, G 4.3 and others
- SÚNV (ZSSK Cargo) – corrections to the scope of N8, N4, N2
The repairs include extensive welding repairs of wagon bodies (mainly open high side and hopper wagons), repairs of pneumatic unloading (tank and hopper cars) and work on wagon floors (open low side and flat wagons). During the repairs, we carry out complete repainting according to the customer’s specific requirements. For all needs of wagon repairs we are equipped to repair and refurbish all other parts of freight wagons.
We also carry out regular inspections and tests of tanks and leak tests according to the regulation for the transport of dangerous goods by rail (RID). We also carry out inspections and tests and leak tests of pressure vessels in accordance with Czech regulations (Decree No.100/1995 Coll.). These tests are carried out by our employees in cooperation with RID experts. Our company also has equipped mobile service, which is able to provide repairs of railway wagons directly at the place of breakdown or in the premises of the customer. The mobile service is equipped with brake testing equipment, welding set and compressor. We offer wagon repairs such as repair of damage to the undercarriage (air brake, mechanical brake, logs, springs, etc.), brake test according to UIC543-1 with recording on HAKAN equipment, minor welding and locksmith repairs.
